The Louisville Lexington International Interior Design Association (IIDA) City Center will present Product Runway COLOR presented by Louisville Tile at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage, 1701 W Muhammad Ali Blvd.
The evening is a fashion show for the Kentucky and Southern Indiana design community. Held bi-annually since 2007, the event features local designers, architects, graphic designers, design students and local shop owners teaming up to make one-of-a-kind couture garments that are modeled in a high-energy New York Fashion Week-style show. Garments are constructed out of materials such as wallcovering, carpet, tile and commercial office furnishings.
IIDA hosts this event to advance the interior design profession through continuing education, professional development, job placement and networking. Bellewood & Brooklawn is IIDA’s charity partner for 2015, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the agency. Bellewood & Brooklawn provides a comprehensive continuum of care serving more than 1,400 children in Kentucky annually, offering services including therapeutic foster care, a family preservation program, residential treatment, community based services and independent living.
The evening will include hors d’oeuvres, cash bar and silent auction, followed by the fashion show. Silent auction items include a sunset dinner cruise on the Ohio River for 12, and a tasting and tour for six at Woodford Reserve Distillery.
Tickets are now on sale online and are $80 each for limited VIP front row seating and two colorful drinks from the bar; $65 each for VIP second row seating and one drink; $50 for general seating and $25 for student seating. Sponsorships are still available by contacting Joseph Estep.
