Message From the CEO
The beginning of a new year is a natural time for us to take stock and engage in renewal. Our faith tells us that change and new life is possible.
Even through our humble beginnings as the Bellewood Presbyterian Home for Children and the German Protestant Orphan Asylum, we have always focused on creating hope and healing for those in our care. Our strategic partnership with Seven Counties Services allows us to provide that healthy environment.
Many of our youth at Bellewood & Brooklawn come to us with a deep family history of trauma and neglect. If a child’s parent needs help to deal with a mental health problem, we can provide hope for them and the child can remain at home. If someone in the family is struggling with addiction, our system of care can help the family get treatment and become stable. We can help pregnant women become sober so that their child will be given the best start possible. Prevention and tips for remaining healthy in body and spirit are part of our ongoing work.
The children and families served by Seven Counties Services / Bellewood & Brooklawn are relying on all of us to renew our commitment to our mission.
There is no better time than the present to put our faith into action. I am often asked what can be done to help our neighbors amidst the pandemic.
- Please keep the children and families we serve in your prayers
- Pray also for the staff that care for them.
- Donate in-kind items that are on our wishlist
- Support foster parents by hosting an informational meeting or support group.
- Take up a special offering to ensure we can provide needed services in the community.
